No-exam life insurance
Who can get it, how it works, and what's different if you don't.
Many carriers now offer accelerated underwriting: for applicants within certain age and coverage limits, they decide using the application, prescription records, driving history and other data instead of a paramedical exam. Some verdicts come back the same day. Each quote on this site tells you whether an exam is required, might be required, or isn't needed for that product.
What it changes
Skipping the exam doesn't skip underwriting. Your answers are verified, and a policy issued on wrong information can be challenged in the first two years. If the carrier's background check raises red flags, it might still ask for an exam or lab work; you decide at that moment whether to proceed.
Who tends to qualify
Usually those under about 60 getting amounts up to each carrier's accelerated limit, with no major health issues and no tobacco use in the past year or more. If you've had a recent doctor's visit with blood tests, some carriers take those results instead of an exam.
If an exam is needed, it's usually a 20- to 30-minute appointment with a paramedic at your home or workplace in the El Centro area, at no cost to you. Results often move healthy applicants up a rate class, so an exam isn't always a setback.
